    Music Faculty

    Mrs. Wendy Bone     (Private Voice, Private Piano)

    B.S. Education, Major in Voice, Middle Tennesee State University.
    Mrs. Bone has served as interim music director for First Baptist Church of Norfolk, directed an adult ensemble for five years with London Bridge Baptist, and is presently a cantor and choir member at Star of the Sea Catholic Church. She is currently a member of the Virginia Symphony Orchestra Chorus.

    Mr. Christopher Card     (Advanced Band, Jazz Band, Private Brass lessons)

    B.A., Music Education, James Madison University; M.S., Music Education, University of Illinois
    Mr. Card is the Executive Director of the Tidewater Winds, auditioning and hiring their musicians, overseeing fundraising, scheduling and serving as guest conductor. He is an adjunct music professor at Tidewater Community College (Norfolk campus). He has served as Band Director for high school and college level bands and is a low brass player as well.

    Assistant Band Director, U.S. Navy, Ret.; Former Director of Library Services, U. S. Armed Forces School of Music; Former Director/Conductor-The Voices of Norfolk Concert Choir, Inc.; Choir Director - Faith Wesleyan Church.

    Mr. Gary Garlic     (Beginning Band, Intermediate Band, Percussion Ensemble, Private Percussion)

    B.A., Norfolk State University.
    More than 13 years teaching experience, and more than 20 years performing experience, including professional performances with acts such as Donna Summers and Stevie Wonder.

    Miss Abigail Hall     (Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced Handbells; Beginning and Intermediate Brass; Private Lessons)

     

    Miss Kelly Jones     (Beginning Strings, Private Cello & Violin, Theory I & II)

     

    Mrs. Sharon Lewis     (Private Piano, Preschool, Primary, Elementary Music, Choir-K-5)

    Over 20 years experience teaching private piano lessons. Music coordinator at Providence Baptist Church. Choir Director for Providence Christian Schools for 5 years.

    Mr. Chris Meyers     (Private Guitar, Praise Band)

    B.A., Music Education, Old Dominion University.

    Mr. Xuan Lin     (Private Violin, Viola)

    Music Degree, Shanghai Conservatory Master of Music Degree, Ohio University.

    Mrs. Karla Robinson     (Senior Choir, Soli Deo Choir, Private Voice)

    B.M., Vocal Performance, St. Olaf College.
    Core Member, Virginia Symphany Orchestra Chorus.

    Mrs. Carole Rosenfarb     (Piano and Voice)

    B.A., Music Education, University of Massachusetts

    Mrs. Sarah Umlauf     (Strings, Private Violin and Viola)

    B.A., Music, Bob Jones University; M.A, Music (Violin Performance). Ball State University.
    Mrs. Umlauf played in the first violin section of South Bend Symphony (South Bend, Indiana). She currently performs with the Virginia Symphony Orchestra.

    Miss Marcie Williams     (Music Theory I, Private Piano)

    B.A., Vocal Performance, Virginia Wesleyan College.
    Emphasis in teaching certification classes and 15 years piano study.

    Mr. Mark Ackerman     (U. S. Government, Computer Science, Old/New Testatment Survey)

    B.A., Pastoral Ministry, Southeastern University; M.A., Public Policy, Regent University; currently performing doctoral studies.

    Mrs. Roberta Belesimo     (Basic Writing, American Literature, World Literature)

    B.S. in Physical Science, United States Naval Academy; M.A. English Literature, Old Dominion University.
    Mrs. Belesimo served actiue duty for 8½ years (before transferring to Naval Reserves), has taught Freshman Literature at Old Dominion University, and has more than 27 years of leadership experience, including serving as Commanding Officer of a Navy Reserve unit and Aircraft Commander of a Navy jet.
